Today we had some class but nobody wants to read about that really. In the afternoon the sun came out so I grabbed my laptop and headed for the pool deck. I spent the next four hours writing a paper, taking the occasional swim and even took a half hour break to do some yoga when a nice girl told a buddy and I that she would teach us how to do some moves….this trip gets better and better, what am I some sort of student?! Later on after dinner, which was spent discussing plans for the coming week, I went to our logistics meeting and then left to watch sunset. We happened to be cruising right in between Corsica to port and Sardinia to starboard. There were stunning views of the moon rising over Sardinia as the sun fell just behind Corsica! I wish the ship's internet would allow for pictures because it was such a cool sight, but also one that has to be experienced to fully comprehend. Right now I am on deck 6 because they are airing the EuroCup final on some projectors. Not so good for Italy at the moment. I have successfully packed a week's worth of gear into my backpack and we are ready to take on Italy. Our plan is to spend two days in Rome touring and then on the third morning we will head south towards the Amalfi coast to explore Sorrento, Positano, and possibly Capri or Ischia. Stay tuned as we experience classic European backpacking for a week.
Ciao,
Jeff
